The Best Job in the World
During my freshman year in college I landed the best job in the world. While all my other friends had tough service jobs, I decided to apply at a women’s clothing stores. I figured that the hardest thing that I’d be doing all day was lifting boxes, but I’d have the benefit of being around women all day. At the very least I would learn a lot, and when I landed a job at Alfred Dunner clothing I knew I’d made the right decision.
First off I did in fact spend most of my time unloading boxes and stocking the storeroom shelves. After a few hours of this each day I’d be nice and sweaty, but all the women that I worked with really liked picking on me. They loved flirting and making me uncomfortable, but I enjoyed it because the whole time I was getting paid and listening to them talk. I learned more during this job that I did in any of my first few college classes, but one day I totally got in trouble and felt really bad. I was unloading a crate of Foxcroft blouses and I dropped the entire thing into a puddle of dirty water. They were ruined and I just felt awful.
