Striking Out on His Own
![]() |
My cousin just opened up his own Dallas criminal defense law firm. It is located on the edge of the city where the rents are the cheapest. For years he had been working at a prominent law firm, but he finally had enough of all the office politics. He had been saving up for years and finally just decided to pull the trigger. He was able to keep some of his clients and even managed to negotiate quite an impressive severance package from them. But now that he’s struck out on his own he couldn’t be more happier.
We had lunch last week and he couldn’t stop talking about his Dallas criminal defense firm. He was as happy as a clam and he even picked up the check, which is something he rarely does. Not because he’s cheap or anything, he’s just been saving up every last dime to make this dream come true. I told him how proud I was of him and then he told me about his new marketing strategy. He plans to utilize all of the best social media sites, which is something that his previous firm was behind the curve on and made them really vulnerable.
